Addicted

Marshall is ADDICTED to basketball. On Monday we went to the park and this is what Marshall did for 40 minutes.

He really just stood there and watched this intense game of basketball. I was very bored, but at least he was entertained!

Visit From Grandma Laura

A couple of weeks ago Richard was in Boston for a week long conference so my wonderful mother decided to come visit and keep Marshall and me company. We absolutely loved having her here! Marshall especially enjoyed the attention and didn't have to go in time-out once; grandmas are definitely special!

While my mom was here we took a three day trip up to Door County. This is a beautiful part of Wisconsin that I had heard was a must-do while living here so I'm glad I finally got the chance to visit.

We stayed in Sturgeon Bay and our condo was right on the beach of Lake Michigan-perfect! The water was beautiful, the sand was soft, everything was green and the weather was perfect! It was a great little vacation for us-thanks mom!

Anyway, on to the trip...

Here we are playing on the beach just outside our room. Marshall, as usual, loved throwing rocks in the water and would have jumped right in the lake if I would have let him. By the time we went inside, his shoes were soaked, but the freezing cold water never seemed to bother him; he's a tough one!

Funny story, while my mom was roaming the shoreline to find rocks for Marshall to continue throwing into the lake, she stumbled into this...

A skeleton! We were both a little disgusted, but did spend a few minutes trying to figure out what creature this was. Still not sure, any ideas?!

And now, on to happier things!

The view from our balcony-beautiful! We ate all of our meals outside; it was very refreshing!

The next morning we drove another 20 minutes north to this beach. It was bigger and had a nice park. Marshall had more fun splashing in the water and this time enjoyed sticks rather than rocks. Here are some fun action shots.

Later that afternoon, after naps for all three of us, we hit the pool. Marshall hadn't been swimming since last summer, and as you can tell from his scowl, he wasn't too thrilled. You would think that with his love for the lake, he would love the swimming pool, but it took him a good 30 minutes to finally start having some fun. By the end he was jumping off the side and splashing and laughing; good times had by all!

After the pool we went back outside to enjoy the lake some more. Marshall wanted to set sail!

There he goes, out to sea! Well, not really, but it sure looks like it!





My mom and I spent both our nights there watching "This Is It", the Michael Jackson movie. A classic, and of course, I had to introduce her to it! Anyway, we did pause the movie both nights to go out on the balcony and watch the sunset. It was simply beautiful!

Before we started our drive back to Milwaukee we visited a dairy farm. It was a fun little place and we all enjoyed ourselves.

They had a few little animals out for a petting zoo. Marshall especially loved the goats and I thought they were pretty cute myself.

After we played outside we went in for a little tour of the dairy and how the cows get milked. It was pretty interesting and Marshall discovered a love for cows. :)
