Six Weeks Old and as Cute as Ever!

Well, all I have to say is that I absolutely love being a mom! Even though I feel like I hardly get anything done during the day, nothing can beat taking care of little Marshall. He is such a great baby!

I can't believe he is already six weeks old. He had a major growth spurt this week. Lengthwise he has almost outgrown a couple of his three month outfits and he is already wearing size two diapers! I can't believe how quickly he is growing and changing! I told Richard I am ready for another newborn-I think that has him a little bit worried. :)

Here are some pictures from the last couple of days. I still haven't been successful at capturing one of his adorable smiles with the camera, but I will keep trying!

This is the closest picture I have to a smile. It is still pretty cute, but doesn't come close to the huge grins he has been giving us.

Bath time! I love this picture. Just hanging out in his bathtub, lookin' pretty cool.

Seriously, isn't this the cutest little boy you have ever seen?!

So here's the story behind this picture. This morning after I fed Marshall I told Richard he was in charge of the little guy while I got ready for church. I went about doing what I needed to do and was surprised that things had been so quiet in our bedroom for so long because Marshall was pretty fussy when I handed him off. Well, when I opened the door, this is what I saw and it just melted my heart. I told Richard he should just stay there all day because they both looked so cute and comfortable.

Five Weeks and Still Going Strong...

Well, now that I'm pretty much a stay-at-home mom I am finally getting into this whole blogging thing. And, just to clarify, all of the previous posts have been from Richard, even though he writes as if they were from me-what a sly guy. :) Anyway, I just wanted to share what little Marshall has experienced in his five weeks of life.

Visits from all four grandparents.

A short road trip to South Chicago with Grandpa Toney to meet Great-Grandma and Grandpa Toney. Little Marshall did fairly well in his carseat with only short bouts of screaming both ways!

An unplanned trip to the pediatrician for pink eye and his first antibiotic, poor kid.

Weekly BYU football games with dad, which have all been victories!

Trips to the medical school, the grocery store, the car inspection place, and mom's work.

His church debut, which went very well despite squirting dad's suit pants during a diaper change.

And last, but definitely not least, his first real smile at exactly five weeks old! Unfortunately we haven't been able to catch any real smiles with the camera yet, but we will keep trying!
