Look Who's Walking!

Little Bridget finally decided that walking was much better than crawling. Here she is in action.

One funny thing that I always want to remember...

Back in January we had the Hassells over for dinner. That night, while we were all gathered in the living room, Bridget started going from sitting to standing all by herself. A few weeks later the Hassells were over again for dessert. That night Bridget started letting go of the couch and taking one step before falling down. After seeing this we thought that she would pick up walking just a few days later. Not so! She needed to wait for another Hassell visit! Two weeks ago the Hassells came over to visit one night and Bridget surprised us all by taking five steps and she hasn't looked back since! This clearly shows that the Hassells are the good luck charm, either that or she is trying to impress baby Max, the boy we all want her to marry. :)

Easter Festivities

I think we went a little overboard with Easter this year. Our kids got four visits from the Easter Bunny. Oh boy. After the fourth visit from this little bunny Marshall exclaimed, "The Easter Bunny has given me everything!" Yes, I could see how he would think that.

Visit #1: Playgroup (see previous post)

Visit #2: Friday evening Easter gifts. No photos to document this. :)
Richard had to work all Easter weekend and didn't want to miss out on all the fun. So, in the middle of dinner on Friday night Richard decided the Easter Bunny was going to deliver Marshall and Bridget's gifts early. Marshall got Sid, the plane from "Cars 2" and Bridget got two books.

Visit #3: Saturday morning Easter baskets!

Visit #4: Saturday Easter Egg Hunt

When I was growing up I always woke up to eggs scattered all over the yard because the Easter Bunny visited at night. But, with rabbits, squirrels, a fox, and deer freely roaming our yard, I didn't trust the eggs out overnight. :) So, we had a mid-morning visit from the Easter Bunny. Bridget was napping for all of this fun, but Marshall sure had a ball.

Later that afternoon we took a trip to the hospital to visit Richard and deliver some Easter treats to him. It was a five minute visit as he went from one patient to the next, but we enjoyed it.

As a funny side note, after we got home from the hospital this is what Bridget discovered. I am not kidding, she found this and put it on all by herself. Very observant.

Sunday morning, of course, brought new Easter outfits for church. But, because I was on my own and we had to be to church early, these are the only pictures I snapped. This year Bridget was the one not cooperating.

Isn't that dress just adorable?! Thanks Grandma Laura! She got compliment after compliment at church. I will definitely be getting more pictures of her in this dress; I have to do it justice!

One more try...Marshall even offered to hold her for this one, yeah, that didn't go so well. Oh well, good try Marshall!

We finally got around to dying the Easter eggs on Tuesday. Marshall loved it.


Despite all of these Easter Bunny visits, we still remembered the real reason that we have Easter. How grateful we are for our Savior, Jesus Christ, and His sacrifices for us.

Easter Playgroup

We had our playgroup Easter party this last Thursday. Karisa was a great host, as always, and had fun activities planned for the kids. They started off with this little craft. Marshall is quite proud of his painted egg; it is currently hanging on his bedroom door.

After some playtime Karisa gathered all the kids into a bedroom. They looked out the window and didn't see any eggs. Then, she closed the drapes, and read them a couple of Easter stories while other moms hid the eggs outside. After the book, Karisa opened the drapes and the kids looked outside and saw all the eggs. I am not lying when I say I have never seen Marshall so excited. He came running out of that bedroom and exclaimed, "Mommy, the Easter Bunny came!" He had a grin from ear to ear. I want to forever remember his face in that moment; it was priceless. All of the other kids were just as eager. What a fun few minutes!

Marshall's cheesy smile has recently morphed into this. Interesting.

I did not bring a basket or eggs for Bridget because I figured she was too young for all of this. Not so!

Lo and behold, this group of children actually sitting still and somewhat paying attention to the camera. All of the moms were shocked at the cooperation of these kids. No one was running out of the picture; we sat them down and they stayed put! I guess baskets full of candy work miracles!

My Three Favorites

Marshall Funnies

Marshall has been on a roll lately with some funny sayings. Here's a sampling...

Me: I am just going to change Bridget's diaper and then let's get in the car.
Marshall: What you said?
Me: I said I am going to change Bridget's diaper.
Marshall: Oh, and then we are going to get rid of her?

Oh boy. Bridget has been a part of our family for over a year now and he still thinks she's only here for a visit.

Last night during Family Home Evening:

Richard: Marshall, what song should we sing?
Marshall: The Marshall song, from Utah.
Richard: We don't know that song.
Marshall: Yes you do. We love Marshall. We love Marshall. We love Marshall.

Every night before we put Marshall to bed, we pile on his bed and cuddle and talk with him for a couple of minutes. Last night I guess Marshall was done with the talking because he abruptly put an end to it...

Marshall: Stop talking now, you are embarrassing me.

Sometimes this kid drives me crazy, but its a guarantee that he makes me laugh out loud at least once a day.

Marshall In A Burrito

Marshall likes to be wrapped up in his blanket each morning; so I decided to make him a toddler burrito with a large blanket. He loved it and stayed wrapped up for close to an hour. Crazy kid.
