Trip to Provo

The night before Marshall and I drove to Vernal to spend a week with Richard's parents we took a spur of the moment trip to Provo to see Richard. We met him at a park after he got off work. We ate pizza and played on the toys; a perfect evening!

The next morning before we left for Vernal I took Marshall to the Bean Museum. I thought he would love it, not so, I guess he thought the animals were a little too close for his liking.

Maybe he was right. :) I ended up carrying him through the entire museum.

Had to get a picture of the cougar. A ferocious animal.

And just one more shot of those glorious Utah County mountains. Beautiful!

Hogle Zoo Trip One

While in Utah we took two trips to the Hogle Zoo. I hadn't been there in years and it was fun to go back and experience it all with Marshall.

Our first excursion to the zoo was with two of my cousins. They both have two kids, so it was quite the day with three toddlers and two babies, but we had a great time.

All three of these kiddos had the same monkey leash, pretty cute if you ask me!

Marshall loved, loved, loved the carousel. He still talks about the animals going "up and down". And, here is one of my top ten favorite pictures of Marshall...

That face is just priceless!

To wrap up our day at the zoo the kids enjoyed playing with this ball and the water. Gotta love the simple pleasures of life!

Marshall and Grandpa Bob

I love, love, love this picture. Marshall and Grandpa Bob (Richard's dad) have a special connection.

First off, Marshall is the Leake's only grandson; they have four granddaughters, so I'm sure Bob enjoys any time he can get with his only grandson.

Also, when Marshall was just three months old we were in Utah for Christmas and Marshall had a hard time getting to sleep at night. We spent three nights in Vernal with Richard's parents and every night Grandpa Bob would put Marshall to sleep and Marshall would sleep through the night!

Since then these two have been almost inseparable whenever they are together. A boy and his grandpa, such a great thing.

Marshall's 2nd Birthday

Marshall celebrated his second birthday on September 5th. It was a Sunday so the day began with Richard and Marshall perusing the Sunday ads, a favorite past-time of Richard's. :)

After church the big birthday celebration began. Thanks to Labor Day weekend we were able to celebrate with lots of family, which was wonderful!

Marshall was spoiled, spoiled, spoiled with presents. Ah, the benefits of living far away from family and not having many other cousins to share the grandparents with. :)

The joys that a little garbage truck can bring to a two-year-old. I really thought we would lose this before we made it back to Milwaukee, but we didn't, and he's still very attached to it!

After presents and dinner we moved on to the cake. We had cake for Richard too; can't let a 30th birthday pass you by!

Marshall's turn...

I love this picture. Two happy boys.

Marshall did a lot better with his cake this year. Last year he didn't want anything to do with it!

So, that was Marshall's big day. We sure are glad he's a part of our family. He makes us laugh every single day and we're grateful he's ours!

Baby Girl Leake

As promised, here are some ultrasound pictures. It is simply a miracle how quickly little cells grow and develop into a healthy and functioning little human being.

7 weeks

11 weeks

A 3-D image, we never had any of these with Marshall.

20 weeks

And me at 20 1/2 weeks. :)
