Hangin' Out With The Guys

Marshall, two of my brothers, and my dad all enjoying some ESPN.

Discovery Gateway Children's Museum

Marshall and I were able to be in Utah for my mom's birthday. For her birthday she wanted to spend the morning with Marshall and me, absolutely perfect! So, we drove into Salt Lake and went to the children's museum. Marshall had been there once before, but it was fun to go back. Here he is playing with the tubes that are full of wind. He also loved these last time and I just love the faces he pulls every time he opens the door to the tube.

Out on the roof they had a helicopter that the kids could play in. Marshall loved this and still talks about sitting in the helicopter.

After the helicopter fun we went back inside and Marshall played in this construction area. He was in heaven and spent most of his time jumping into these piles of blocks.

Hope you enjoyed your birthday morning Mom!

Finally Getting Back to September...

While in Utah Marshall and I spent a week in Vernal with Richard's parents. It was a wonderful, and incredibly relaxing week. Marshall had a ball and loved experiencing so many new things. Here's our week in pictures...

Enjoying the trampoline, love his hair.

Driving the BIG tractor.

"Driving" the little tractor (aka riding lawn mower).

Playing Grandma Becky's harp.

A trip to the park.

Actually getting to ride on the riding lawn mower.

Visiting the Dinosaur Museum. I really thought that Marshall would love this, turns out dinosaurs are a little too big and scary for his liking. I carried him almost the entire time we were there.

Two boating outings. This was Marshall's first time on a boat and he did great. He still talks about going in the boat with Grandpa Bob and getting wet. Gotta love the life jacket. :)

I just can't get enough of this life jacket. It makes me chuckle every time. :)

Thank you Bob and Becky for a wonderful week! Love you both!

Playgroup with an Olympian

Today we had playgroup at a gymnastics club and we were able to enjoy the preschool open gym time. Marshall had a great time running and jumping for two hours. I told Richard that we definitely need to go back there this winter and he and Marshall can play their little hearts out. When we first got there I jumped in the foam pit with Marshall to play with him, but when I wanted to get out, it was very difficult! I was having visions of the workers dragging a pregnant woman out of the pit-not a pretty picture! But, do not worry, I was able to make it out by myself, it just took some work. :)

Now, on to the exciting part of playgroup...

After we had been there for a while I noticed two men on the other side of the gym. One was in warm-ups and the other was just in shorts and he was on the parallel bars doing some pretty cool tricks. Marshall and I watched him for a few minutes and then Marshall decided to move on to some new toys that were on the side of the gym that these men were on. Once we got closer I immediately realized who I was looking at...

Paul Hamm!

That's right, Paul Hamm, an Olympian in men's gymnastics, and a gold medalist!

I knew the Hamm brothers were from Wisconsin, but I had no idea they were right here in Milwaukee, at least Paul Hamm is anyway.

I did have my camera with me, but I was only brave enough to take one picture. My friend Chelsea, was more daring, and got some great pictures. I stole the second one from her blog, thanks Chelsea. :)

Marshall's Photo Shoot

While we were in Utah I had a friend take some pictures of Marshall. She and her husband spent over an hour with him, and while he started out a little shy, we ended up with some great shots. Click here to see the preview. The CD with all the other pictures is in the mail-can't wait!

Trip to Provo

The night before Marshall and I drove to Vernal to spend a week with Richard's parents we took a spur of the moment trip to Provo to see Richard. We met him at a park after he got off work. We ate pizza and played on the toys; a perfect evening!

The next morning before we left for Vernal I took Marshall to the Bean Museum. I thought he would love it, not so, I guess he thought the animals were a little too close for his liking.

Maybe he was right. :) I ended up carrying him through the entire museum.

Had to get a picture of the cougar. A ferocious animal.

And just one more shot of those glorious Utah County mountains. Beautiful!
