All the way back in last January my parents called all of their kids to inform us they had booked a week for the entire family in Williamsburg, Virginia right after Christmas. December 27th finally came and we kicked it off by all meeting up at the Washington Monument; it was momentous! We spent the next week together seeing the sights, laughing our heads off, and making incredible and lasting memories.
We were so lucky to have trips with both of our families in 2014. I am so glad my kids got time with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and most of all, all their fun cousins.
Now onto the vacation!
| I am going to say it one more time...maybe more...I love D.C! May we move there one day. |
| We all met up at the Washington Monument. It really was so fun, and I will always remember it. In all the excitement though, I forgot a picture. :) Snapped one at the Lincoln Memorial! Love this family of mine! |
| Hours and hours of games. It was great! |
| These two got a lot of time together. Rachel is just seven weeks older. It was so fun to watch them together. |
| I'm not gonna lie, this vacation was a little rough on Rachel. Probably everyone in my family will remember her multiple screaming sessions. She's so feisty and independent; the girl does not like to be contained! |
| Our first day in Williamsburg was a rainy one, so we stayed at the resort and spent a lot of time in the pool. Thankfully though, the rain let up, we dressed warm, and made it to the Fife and Drum Parade that evening. Always the highlight! |
| Sadly, we were missing Ben's family on this trip, hopefully next time. |
| Thank goodness for uncles and lots of wrestling! |
| U.S. Army Transportation Museum at Fort Eustis. |
| Rachel really perfected her escape artist skills that week. Thankfully there was one more door to the outside after this one. She never made it out that second door, though we frequently found her in between them. |
| An afternoon at the park for these two littles. |
| I do love Jaxon's face in this picture. His dad stood up and left to be replaced by Richard. Clearly he is non-plused. :) |
| We spent all of Wednesday in Williamsburg and just about froze, but it was a great time! |
| This is New Year's Eve at 11:00 pm playing Telestrations. I love my dad!!! |
| Just after midnight. Happy 2015! |
| On New Years Day some of us went into Williamsburg to hear George Washington speak. |
| So authentic! |
| Our last day was spent in Jamestown. Marshall loved it there three years ago and remembered so much about it. |
| This is an original section of the church in Jametown! Incredible! |
| We made it back to Milwaukee after a long travel day on the 3rd. We were all a bit sad...and very tired. |
This was such a wonderful, wonderful vacation. I am normally ready to get back to real life after vacation, not so this time! I think that the busier our lives get, the better vacations are. Not to mention it was the best to have Richard with us for ten straight days.
Hooray for 2014 and family vacations!!!
Until next time Toney family!
