This post is just about two months overdue, but I have to wrap up our trip to Utah in June before we go back to Utah this week for my brother's wedding!
While we were in Utah we were able to celebrate my Grandpa Yancey's 85th birthday. What an event! We were still living in Utah for his 80th birthday and he wanted to celebrate that by hiking to Mt. Timpanogos Cave, which we did. This year though he just wanted a low-key celebration with family. It was perfect. The Sunday before his birthday many of the family gathered for a birthday bundt cake. My Grandma Yancey used to always make bundt cakes and my dad knew of a fantastic bakery that just makes bundt cakes. It was a delicious cake and nice to celebrate a birthday the way my Grandma Yancey would.
Love this picture, what a guy!
The day of the big 85 my Grandpa treated all of us to dinner at Brick Oven. It was so fun to be together and celebrate the big occasion.I sure do love my Grandpa Yancey; he is one great guy. Since my Grandma passed away in December I've been able to have more conversations, emails, and visits with just my Grandpa, which have been wonderful. He came out for Richard's graduation and Bridget's blessing in May and it was so great to have him with us. Love you Grandpa!
