Bad Morning

The following picture perfectly describes how my morning went from 5:45-9:15.

Banana bread gone terribly wrong.

At least the rest of the day went much better!

Bridget's vocabulary has made another leap!  Here are the videos to prove it.

50 Weeks

We moved into our house 50 weeks ago.  It took 50 weeks for our bedroom to go from this

to this

We moved some things around, de-junked, and replaced our seven year old Walmart bedding.  Quite a nice makeover if I do say so myself.  Its not a masterpiece, but after living in this home for a year I've decided while I like a nice looking home, I don't really enjoy creating a nice looking home.  :)  I have neither the creativity or the patience.  But, I am loving this room!  Now I need to find some motivation to tackle the drapes in the living room.

Ghosts

Way back in January Marshall was interviewed for his Primary spotlight.  He told the primary president that he wanted to be a ghost when he grows up.  He was spotlighted some time this summer and was still insistent that he would grow up to be a ghost.

Today at preschool all of the kids told their teacher one thing that made them happy and one thing they were thankful for.  The list was displayed outside of their classroom.  It came as no surprise to me that Marshall said that ghosts make him happy and that he is thankful for them too.

Halloween Hoop-la

We were celebrating Halloween for an entire week over here.  Holy smokes.  We have candy coming out of our ears.  I'm glad its over.

Playgroup Halloween Party at our house
It was way too chaotic to snap any great pictures.  We had a fun time with books, games, and food.

The owl and the shark.  Future husband and wife.

Look at those carseats full of babies!
Bridget was loving the babies!  It was so cute to watch her with them.

 Halloween Party at the church

Bridget's not sure about this whole thing.  A somber owl.

But happier with a cupcake.  :)

Breaking a pinata, as if the kids needed any more candy.  :)

Trick-or-treating at MCW

Don't be fooled by her expression.  She LOVED this and left with a pumpkin brimming with candy.

Carving the pumpkin

Halloween night

Marshall asked for a dog pumpkin.  Not too shabby.  Good job Richard.

I took Marshall out trick-or-treating in our neighborhood with another family and he had a ball.

I was planning on taking Bridget along, but she had a meltdown and lunged for her crib, so that's where I left her.  Richard tells me they had a great time hanging out together and handing out candy, but this is how I found her when Marshall and I got home.  :)

The wrath of an angry owl.

And on that lovely note, good-bye Halloween!

Getting Old...Again

These posts are becoming more frequent for me.

I have decided that I don't really have a problem with getting older.  I still feel young and life is great.  But, I do get pretty emotional every time I think about my kids getting older.  It seriously breaks my heart.

First example.

Several weeks ago Richard and I were watching one of our weekly shows and as part of the storyline one of the characters was dropping his only child off at college for the first time.  Richard turned to me and said, "Just think, we'll be doing that for Marshall in 14 years!"  My response, immediate tears.  I didn't just tear up, I really did cry.  It completely caught Richard off-guard.  :)  I might just take Marshall's ritual of pooping in his pull-up every night if it meant he could always stay four, never grow-up, and never move out of the house. Well, at least I felt that way until the middle of the night when Marshall woke up screaming and demanded that he sleep with a cup of milk.  :)

Second example.

The other day Richard came home from work and told me that he and his attending physician walked into a room to do a procedure.  The patient, upon seeing Richard, said, "Thank goodness, finally someone who looks like they're not right out of high school!".  The attending laughed and said, "He's been out of high school longer than it will be before his kids are in high school!".  My response, laughter, then almost tears, but I stopped them.

Marshall and Bridget, stop growing up!

A great morning of playing together.  In reality, this is quite a rarity.
